Rachel Roy Debuts “Experimental” Collection At NY Fashion Week
On Tuesday, September 14, designer Rachel Roy debuted her Spring 2011 collection at New York’s Fashion Week.
Roy made chic, wearable cocktail dresses, A-line shirts, maxiskirts, and blouse/pant combos in luxurious silk and jersey fabrics.
She used everything from white, tan, and black neutrals to shiny silvers, retro multicolor prints and metallic blues.
Roy said in an interview earlier in this round of seasonal previews,
“I worked on pairing down flourishes and I made up for that with pairing odd colors and mismatched patterns and experimenting with shapes.”
“I do pay close attention to tone. I’m always considerate of skin tones, and I always make sure something looks good against a variety of skin tones,” she said.
