Bobby Womack Fighting Colon Cancer, Released From Hospital After Pneumonia
Soul legend, Bobby Womack is battling colon cancer! Longtime friend, Bootsy Collins posted the news to his Facebook page with a message from the singer:
“JUST SPOKE TO OUR FRIEND BOBBY WOMACK. He Wanted You All to Know That He Loves You & Thxs for the Prayers. Docs Says He Is In 1st Stage of Colon Cancer, He is Very Up Beat About His Future, we laughed & joked before we hung up. Thxs Funkateers, we will get him Back on the One!”
Bobby was released from the hospital yesterday following a successful recovery from pneumonia. He is scheduled to undergo surgery on a later date.
Womack was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009.
