Rashida Jones On Marriage: “The Country Has Failed, It Doesn’t Buy You Anything”
Rashida Jones recently shared some interesting thoughts on marriage. She stars in a new film titled “Monogamy,” out Friday, but read on to find out if she really believes in it.
“Things are changing so much. Especially this country, we have kind of failed with marriage. We’re so protective of this really sacred but failed institution. There’s got to be a new model. I don’t know what it is, but maybe it’s like 10 years with a lease to buy or rent to own.”
Do you believe in monogamy?
I do for some people. I don’t know if I believe in it for everybody.
So when are you getting married?
Maybe never? [laughs]. Marriage doesn’t really buy you anything. It doesn’t buy you anything. It just buys you a really big s–tty pageant of a wedding to make other people happy. SOURCE
Can’t blame her. Her father, Quincy Jones, has been married three times and has seven children.
