Aretha Franklin Picks Halle Berry To Portray Her In Biopic
Aretha Franklin confirmed that she has selected Halle Berry to portray her during an on-air interview with Wendy Williams on today’s show. The Queen of Soul told Wendy:
“For the last four years we’ve been talking about that (biopic) and I have had a number of offers but unfortunately they were not good offers,” Franklin told Williams. “Now, we have something on the table — all of the financing on one project. And the second project is in the process (writing things for me to approve) on the telefilm.”
American Idol winner Fantasia and Grammy Award winner Jennifer Hudson were rumored to be in consideration.
