Houston was said to be heavily drinking the night before she died and family members confirm that she was taking the drug; the mixture can cause severe sedation, TMZ reports.
Houston was discovered in the bathtub of her hotel room which means she could have fallen asleep after the lethal combination and drowned.
“The L.A. County Coroner will perform an autopsy — possibly today — to determine if Whitney died from drowning, and OD or other causes.”
