Whitney Houston Dead At 48
Whitney Houston is dead at age 48. Publicist Kristen Foster said Saturday that the singer had died, but the cause and the location of her death were unclear.. NY1 is reporting that that Houston was found in the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel. Paramedics were called and performed CPR, but, unresponsive, she was pronounced dead at 3:55 PM.
CNN is reporting that Ray J found Houston dead at the Beverly Hills Hilton hotel ahead of the party honoring music exec Clive Davis.
Houston won two Emmy Awards, six Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, 22 American Music Awards during her record-breaking career. But by the end of her career, drug use took its toll as her record sales plummeted and her voice became raspy and hoarse.
Whitney was set to appear in this year’s “Sparkle,” a remake of the 1976 hit, which was loosely based on the story of The Supremes. It was her first movie role since 1996’s “The Preacher’s Wife.”
Houston had one child, Bobbi Kristina, with husband Bobby Brown. Houston and Brown were married from 1992-2007.
