Radio hosts Loren LoRosa and Jess Hilarious had an emotional heart-to-heart during Wednesday’s episode (March 19) of The Breakfast Club. Through the tense episode, Jess went into more detail about the qualms mentioned in her controversial Instagram Live Session posted on March 18, in which she claimed she did not feel as though she was part of a “team” with co-hosts LoRosa, Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy.

Doubling down on her sentiments, the comedian and influencer, who recently returned to the popular radio show following maternity leave, said she felt unsupported by the group, particularly after comedian Corey Holcomb made inflammatory remarks about her position and future on the show. On the March 12 episode of The Corey Holcomb 5150 Show, Holcomb boldly stated that Jess “wasn’t talented” and that LoRosa, who had been filling in as her temporary replacement, was better suited for the role because she knew how to “fit in” with Charlamagne and Envy.

“The issue is the whole narrative. I understand F the comments and F the people and all that. It’s not about them. It’s about how I’m feeling, too,” she told the group, holding back tears, when Charlamagne asked why she was upset. The mother and star went on to say that she felt no one made an effort to clear up the rumors on the show after Holcomb’s clip went viral, as social media users painted her as a “villain” and jealous of LoRosa.

Defending herself, LoRosa explained that she tried to assure listeners there was no beef between them the day Jess returned from maternity leave, but her attempt “went so bad.” Perplexed by Jess’ Instagram livestream, LoRosa said she was “so thrown off” by parts of the comedian’s rant, as she felt they were on good terms, especially since she had offered Jess numerous opportunities to discuss any feelings she might have had.

Loren LoRosa was surprised by Jess’ “overtalking” accusations

During Wednesday’s Live, Jess revealed she wasn’t a fan of LoRosa’s tendency to “overtalk” on the show, which is why she would tell her co-host to “hush” or “shut up” during certain segments. This comment caught LoRosa by surprise. During their candid sit-down, the former TMZ employee claimed that Jess never mentioned her habit of overtalking on the show or in person privately.

Jess insisted that she did. Explaining her “hush” and “shut up” remarks head-on, Jess told the newcomer, “I have said ‘hush,’ ‘shut up,’ but yo you overtalk, and like I said, I’m not about to be up here fighting for no mic. If I already got the job like, what am I doing? It’s four voices, three of us are very opinionated. Me, you, and Charlamagne. I’m not saying Envy don’t got no opinion, but he don’t jump in every single time there’s dead air. You overtalk.”

Lorosa called for unity

Jess felt that LoRosa should have addressed her issues with the comments live on air when they happened, but LoRosa preferred to handle things more professionally. Attempting to squash their unresolved tension, LoRosa told the entertainer, “…The way that I do things, when it comes to my job and my career, that’s not what we on, and I told you from the jump I was never gonna give that to you…Regardless you don’t got to love me, you don’t have to like me, but we’re here together. I’m here…We gotta figure this out.”

She ended things on a positive note urging for sisterhood and unity with Jess.

“This will work but sometimes, this might have to happen, and it’s happening with love, because when I saw Jess crying I came in here because I care. You have to be okay for all of this to be okay and I’m a producer at the end of the day and you my talent. We’re going to be straight. Everything is going to be fine.”

Awww! We hope these two can work things out. We need our Black radio queens.
