Lizzo Is Supa Dupa Fly, Goes Full-On Missy At The ‘Out Of This World’ LA Tour Stop

Los Angeles hosted an epic night of nostalgia and hip-hop royalty as Missy Elliott’s Out of This World tour rolled into town on July 12. But it wasn’t just Missy who stole the show – Lizzo, a self-proclaimed “Missy stan,” arrived paying homage in the most epic way possible.

Celebrating the famed femcee, Lizzo transformed herself into a mini-Missy fashion icon with a head-to-toe late ’90s look we absolutely loved. Styled by Matthew and Reginald Reisman, Lizzo’s look was flawless.

Lizzo’s look was anchored in a striking yet edgy oversized black leather set to mimic Missy’s unforgettable black latex balloon fit from her ’90s video. To achieve the aesthetic, Lizzo wore a black tank, oversized jacket pullover, and wide-leg shorts.

Each piece of Lizzo’s Stinson Haus ensemble was an ode to the classic look. Her pullover featured slouchy, exaggerated sleeves and fringe drawstring details, her shorts were oversized and gathered at the waist, and the entire fit had a slight sheen and glossy finish.

But while Lizzo’s leather was out of this world, her stunning lenses sent the fit into the next stratosphere.

She wore a custom pair of diamond-crusted shades from Amorir Studio. The shades featured an angled, flared frame and small lenses. The accessory was the perfect compliment for the “About Damn Time” singer’s nostalgic moda moment.

Since the Out of This World concerts blasted off in Vancouver, Missy and her co-performers, Ciara, Timbaland, and Busta Rhymes, continue in cities across the United States and Canada through August. Friday’s Crypto stop brought out several celebrity names and “it” girls. Jennifer Hudson uploaded a carousel post recapping her night enjoying the concert. The talk show host sang “Happy Birthday“ to Missy, posed with friends like Angela Bassett, and danced the night away with Ciara.

Vanessa Bryant also enjoyed the show, sharing pictures and videos on Instagram. Vanessa was all smiles with her eldest daughter, Natalie, and Mea Culpa star, Kelly Rowland.
