Her hair looked absolutely gorgeous and by her various poses, you can tell the Euphoria star was feeling it herself! Her tresses were transformed by celebrity hairstylist, Ursula Stephen, who is responsible for some of Rihanna‘s most epic looks. Stephen shared with Hello Beautiful, “Tonight’s look was extra special because Zendaya went back to red hair! To complement the rich color, we decided to go for old Hollywood inspired soft waes, which went well with her jewel tone green dress and diamonds, for the ultimate Hollywood starlet look!”

We agree! We had Stephens’ give us all the details so we can be red carpet red-y for our next event! Keep reading to learn how to achieve this look in 6 easy steps.

Start with clean hair.

It doesn’t have to be expensive to get your hair clean for a red carpet ready style. Ursula Stephen admitted to using Dove Intensive Repair Shampoo ($3.44, walmart.com) and Dove Intensive Repair Conditioner ($3.44, walmart.com) to cleanse Zendaya’s tresses.

Moisturize those curls!

It’s all about moisture when it comes to our hair type and there’s nothing wrong with mixing products to give your curls the cocktail they need. Ursula Stephen’s used Love Beauty and Planet Coconut Milk & White Jasmine Multi-Benefit Hair Milk ($6.99, target.com) as well as Suave Professionals for Natural Hair Curl Defining Cream ($4.99, walmart.com).

Blow Dry

Next, Stephens’ took a blow dryer to Zendaya’s curls using the ghd air hair dryer ($199.00, ghdhair.com) and a paddle brush.

Time For Curls

After blow drying, Stephens’ “took medium sections of hair and created on-base curls” for a tight ringlet. While she used the ghd curve soft curl iron ($199.00, ghdhair.com), you can also use Revlon Ball Wand ($23.99, amazon.com). The Revlon Ball Wand has a unique ball shaped barrel so hair can be wrapped between the curves to help create loose, natural looking curls or over the curls for larger, looser waves. It also has tourmaline ceramic to help with even heath distribution.

Brush Out The Curls

After Stephens’ created these tight curls, it was time to brush them out for the Old Hollywood glam effect. She shared, “I brushed all the curls pout vigorously to blend them together and create the wave pattern.” Afterward, she brusehd Zendaya’s hair into a wave formation, clipped it in place and misted her hair with Suave Professionals Firm Control Finishing Hairspray ($5.88 for 2, walmart.com).

Let It Set, Then Go!

Stephens’ shared the finishing steps with Hello Beautiful, “Once the waves were set, I removed the pins and shaped the waves around her face.” Then she finished the look with one last spray of hairspray. Voila!
