Give It The Boot: Company Pulls Boots After Swastika Design Found On Soles
This week a user on the popular website Reddit posted pictures of work boots that were ordered showing imprints of swastika symbols on the soles. This image caused a firestorm of immediate reaction from all angles.
The distributing company, City of Industry, issued an apology and immediately recalled the boots. The manufacturers, Polar Fox, with factories based in China, followed suit thereafter, stating “This was in no way intentional.”
City of Industry emphasized they had no intention of knowingly distributing the offensive product, stating, “We will not be selling any of our boots with the misprint to anyone. We would never create a design to promote hate. We don’t promote hate at our company.” The company distributes shoes throughout North America and are known for their affordable pricing.
Amazon also had the boots for sale on their site, but the listing has been taken down since the controversial reports were released.
