NFL star Colin Kaepernick caught nationwide attention when he kneeled in protest during the singing of The National Anthem before his games. The act was intended to bring awareness to police brutality and Black Lives Matter issues.
The athlete faced backlash and support from all sides. But when news leaked that Colin, despite his kneeling activism, opted out of the voting process, his credibility as a groundbreaker slowly waned.
ESPN corespondent Stephen Smith delivered a damning speech towards Colin’s actions. “He absolutely betrayed his cause,” he explained.

While most of Black America is reeling from the results of the 2016 presidential election, rapper David Banner has another take on the whole debacle.
Banner say’s Donald Trump’s presidency is the ‘best thing that could happen to black people, maybe in history, because now there’s no excuse and I’m starting with me,” he said during his Facebook Live stream.
“As a people we need to become more prepared. We need to start today,” he continued. What’s going to happen in our local elections next time? We’re going to have to educate ourselves. We’re going to have to prepare ballots. We may even have to go as far as creating our own third party. People are always scared about what will happen tomorrow but that’s not what I fear. I fear what can possibly happen–or I’m excited about what could possibly happen in the near future.”
