Van Jones’ Response To The Election Results Is How We All Feel

As we all watched anxiously as election results poured in, leaning heavily in Trump’s favor, CNN correspondent Van Jones was able to capture the sentiments of half of America in one soundbite.

He began his impromptu speech asking how to explain this outcome to the children. He also touched on the anxieties of immigrant populations and religious groups, who have been heavily demonized and ostracized during Trump’s campaign. He called the results, ‘whitelash,’ and explains this hateful response against 8 years of Black presidency is the most ‘painful part.’

Actor and political activist Jesse Williams took to Twitter in the wake of the election results to encourage followers to stay steady in the face of defeat.

Jesse, who was vocal about mobilizing people to vote, continues the fight by asking people to ‘come together’ and ‘get creative.’

Banks says she is ‘truly inspired’ and feels ‘deep levels of vindication.’
