Mariah Carey makes her highly anticipated Empire debut next week and helps Jamal (Jussie Smollett) get his singing swag back.
If you haven’t been keeping up with Empire, Jamal is suffering from PTSD after being shot by his former label mate Freda Gatz on the red carpet last season. Jamal has had trouble performing live ever since.
Cue Mariah Carey a.k.a Kitty (for Empire purposes), who has the remedy to cure Jamal and collaborates with the cast on “Infamous.”
“She’s a sweetheart,” Jussie told EW. “She’s a professional and, you know, this is a long time coming.”

Jesse Williams’ Empowering Voting Message
Jesse Williams encourages Americans to vote in a new PSA that challenges those who think skipping the polls is a statement.
“Someone says, ‘Hey, I’m making a statement by not voting,’ and then you say, ‘Well, I can’t hear it,'” he says in the Joss Whedon production.
“If you’re not registered to vote, you can’t sit on a jury. You can’t choose your mayor. You can’t choose your city council. You can’t even choose your district attorney. You can’t decide which measures will help your family and community, and which will put them at risk.”
And if those aren’t compelling reasons enough, the Grey’s Anatomy actor and activist drops the mic when he reminds us, “And it took too God damn long to get it.”
