Jussie Smollett Performs At Pepsi’s ‘Empire’ Season Finale Viewing Party

When #TeamBeautiful received an invite to Pepsi’s Empire season finale viewing party at the Gansevoort Park in NYC, we we’re like, hells yeah!
In case you missed the last few episodes of Empire (don’t worry, we forgive you), Jamal Lyon landed the biggest deal of his career when he was asked to be the #NextPepsiArtist. The empire partnership isn’t exclusive to the show, but also a real life venture for Jussie Smollett, who talked about the huge opportunity on a panel with Pepsi’s Senior Marketing Director Lou Arbetter and FOX/EMPIRE Executive Producer and Director Sanaa Hamri, at last night’s event.
According to Jussie, Empire creator Lee Daniels told him he got the gig after convincing him his character was going on a sabbatical.
Shortly after, Jamal recorded Ready To Go, which is produced by Swizz Beats and featured in his Pepsi commercial.
