Dylann Roof Faces Possible Execution For Charleston Shooting

A state prosecutor in the Mother Emanuel case is seeking the death penalty against the alleged shooter behind the massacre, Dylann Roof. Roof has already been indicted twice for the killings in state and federal court. Scarlett A. Wilson, the SC state solicitor looking over the case, commented saying that not all of the victims’ families agreed with filing for the death penalty due to their religious views, but said that prosecuting authorities went ahead out of interest in establishing consequences for Roof’s alleged actions. Autopsy Shows Texas Teen Had Drugs In His System When Killed By Police

Christian Taylor reportedly had a synthetic psychedelic drug called NBOMe and marijuana in his system when he broke into a Texas car dealership, paced the premises and damaged automobiles. The presence of drugs in his system explains his strange behavior: NBOMe is known to agitate users, making them hallucinate and display bizarre behaviors. Taylor was soon shot dead by a rookie cop that disobeyed orders by entering the car dealership by himself. The officer, Brad Miller, lost his job shortly after the shooting. Read more at The Root.

The creators of “Playing History: Slave Trade” have edited their video game to no longer include a segment in which slaves are dropped into a cargo ship like figures in “Tetris.” The developer, Serious Games, was criticized on social media for trivializing the oppressive practices of slavery, but has responded saying that the goal of the game is to educate young teens on history and that the clip in question was only a 15-second bit. Ferguson’s Police Department is getting bad reviews once again for its abominable practices in dealing with civilians during protests that followed Michael Brown’s death. The Justice Department says that Ferguson officers failed to effectively communicate with each other or with locals, they inhibited protesters’ freedom of expression and they wrongfully intimidated demonstrators with weapons, tear gas, attack dogs and military-style gear and vehicles.
