Dr. Wayne Dyer, Famed Self-Help Pioneer, Dies At 75
Dr. Wayne Dyer, a leading voice in self-help literature and motivational speaking, passed on Saturday in Maui, Hawaii. Dyer first broke onto the scene in 1976 with his wildly successful book, Your Erroneous Zone, and has been close friends with Oprah because of his work for 30 years. One fearful parent from Killeen, TX shared a screenshot of a since deleted Instagram post from a user named “jakedajesus254″ on her personal Facebook saying: “This is a final warning to all the [n-word] out there…I’m gonna beat UR a—- I wanna fight every n—– who thinks he can take me.” Scores of other parents caught wind of the warning and as a result withheld 352 out of the 2,200 students that attend the local high school on Friday. No arrests have been made for the threat and no attacks occurred late last week as feared. The superintendent of the Killeen Independent School District has said that they are currently investigating. Read more at The Root.

White Florida Teacher Holds A Lawsuit After Being Fired For Having Black Boyfriend
Audrey Dudek, previously a teacher for Edgewater High School in Florida’s Orange County, is now taking action after being fired and subjected to a racist skit by her colleagues. Dudek, a White woman, alleges that administrators tried to shame her for having a Black boyfriend (now husband) and for affiliating herself with people of color on her staff. She says she was then wrongfully fired in 2013; she is suing at an unlisted amount for lost wages, “emotional pain” and “reputational injury.” Read more at the Huffington Post.

ISIS is now targeting unemployed young people in Ghana, using cash and the promise of getting into heaven as bait. Locals have been on edge since news broke of a young recent college graduate leaving Ghana to go to join ISIS; some are afraid that the story is an initial sign of a mass exodus and militant violence coming into the country after having earned a reputation of a stable and settled democracy. What’s more, the Boko Haram may try to exert their influence in the area by 2016 as well. The young man recruited by ISIS, Nazir Alema Nortey, graduated from one of Ghana’s best universities. Family members describe him as an ordinary, gentle and well-mannered person. Read more at Quartz.
