MUSIC ROUNDUP: Janet Teases New Album?; Tinashe Goes On Tour With Katy Perry & More

Congrats are in order for one of our fave new entertainers, Tinashe! She’s set to join Katy Perry on the South American leg of her Prismatic world tour this fall! They will be visiting seven countries together, starting September 29 in Curitiba, Brazil and ending on October 18 in San Jose, Costa Rica. This is huge for the “2 On” singer!
Tinashe is currently wrapping up supporting Nicki Minaj on the The Pinkprint Tour and earlier this year, Tinashe completed a sold-out, four continent headlining world tour, which brought her much praised, high-energy show through North America, Australia, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. So she’s definitely ready for a world tour of Katy’s caliber.
Tinashe has been on the road for the past year promoting her debut album Aquarius, which came out last October. The album, which includes Platinum #1 hit “2 On (Featuring ScHoolboy Q)” and the much-praised “All Hands On Deck,” earned Tinashe praise across the board with everybody from The New York Times to Rolling Stone, Billboard, Complex, Los Angeles Times, The FADER and beyond calling the music among the best of 2014. Tinashe is currently finishing up work on her heavily anticipated sophomore studio album, due to be released soon.

Even though Tank’s been flexing his acting muscles lately as one of the stars of TV One’s Born Again Virgin, he’s still making time for his first love: music. The R&B hunk recently teamed up with DC rapper, Wale for a new single, “You Don’t Know.”
Check out the song here. Obviously, Tank’s borrowed a little melody and lyrics from the legendary Patti LaBelle, “If only you knew how much I do, I do love you.” Tank’s working on a new album, SLP2, set to release this winter and spoiler alert–R&B bad boy, Chris Brown has a track or two on the album.

Janet Jackson has pretty much tortured us all after she announced the Unbreakable Tour (which we still need tickets to, please?) because we’ve been waiting on new music ever since. Sure she granted us with her new single, “No Sleeep,” which has been moving up the charts, but we want an album!
Janet took to her Twitter and calm our worries that something is coming. What? We don’t know.

Mariah Carey has had it up to here with your criticisms about her flailing vocals. Legendary songwriter, Diane Warren, who’s written classics like Toni Braxton’s “Un-break My Heart, Beyonce’s “I Was Here” and Mariah’s “Can’t Take That Away From Me,” among many others.
Diane took to Twitter to express her glee in working with Mimi again, saying:
Let all the lambs rejoice! Mariah and the genius songwriter that is Diane Warren are back together again, so this could only mean there’s a ballad on the way! Fingers crossed!
