Of all things ironic…
The city of Ferguson, Mo. is giving Mike Brown a permanent memorial. According to The Huffington Post, the original makeshift memorial, which was covered with teddy bears and other items, will be replaced by a plaque honoring Brown, who was fatally shot by Darren Wilson last August.
Michael Brown Sr. appeared with Mayor James Knowles in the Ferguson Community Center to unveil the plaque.
The announcement came on what would have been Brown’s 19th birthday.
This basically feels like placing a metaphorical bandage over what is a more serious situation.
Hopefully the City of Ferguson also works toward improving police relationships with the community Brown was from as well.
