Happy Birthday, Selena! The late Tejano singer would have turned 43 today. Although Selena Quintanilla-Perez was fairly unknown in the U.S. before her untimely death in ’95, she was already a Grammy winning artist, and the Queen of Tejano music. Jennifer Lopez infamously brought her star to life when she brought Selena’s story to the big screen in 1997. Selena was gunned down by a former fan club president when she was only 23.

We celebrate the bright star with a look at her music videos!

 “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom”

The beachy feel of the clip makes us long for the ’90s summers of our middle school! Crop tops and vests anyone?

“Donde Quiera Que Estes”

Boy band moved and Selena’s signature leather style. Excuse us while we break out the running man!

“Amor Prohibido”

This clip has a very Michael Jackson “In The Closet” feel, with the more crop tops and bustiers. Or a “busticaca,” like her movie dad Edward James Olmos calls them.

“No Me Queda Mas”

Nothing hurts like being stood up, but with a letter at dinner? What craz y man would do that to Selena? She bounces back in true diva fashion, in a glamorous gown and regal bun. She even did heartbreak in style.

“Como La Flor” Live

There’s no way we couldn’t include “Como La Flor” as we salute Selena. Her charisma and smile are infectious in her performance at the Acapulco Festival concert in Mexico in 1994.

“La Carcacha”

We get to see her family “Y los Dinos” jam alongside her. Look at those mullets.

“I Could Fall In Love”

Selena’s crossover single “I Could Fall In Love” was poised to be her major U.S. introduction. The posthumous video features performances from the singer.

“Dreaming Of You”

Sadly, Selena was killed before her American single was released. The clip features images of the late singer, and her fans singing the words of a now classic.
