Not sure what to do with that magical bell shaped piece of steel? Be like me and team up with the hard bodies over at KettleWorX. They have created a fast, fun and effective kettlebell 8-week training program designed for all fitness levels–so get ready to get your swing on!
The Pot Won’t Call This Kettle Wack
The number one reason kettlebells are so cool in gym school is because of their shape–think cannonball with a handle. Unlike traditional dumbells, the kettlebell’s center of mass is extended beyond the hand. This may not seem like a big deal, but because the weight is distributed differently so is the power, allowing for swinging movements and release moves. This added fun makes the grip a trip. Literally. The way you grip the kettlebell during various movements strengthens the muscles in the wrist and lower arm in ways that most other exercises cannot. So what do you say? Are you ready to take the challenge?
The Benefits Of Swinging
Obviously kettlebell training increases your strength, however due to the momentum behind those swings your heart rate gets some play too. Hello cardio! And if that is not enough, your core will also love you more once you take up swinging. In one American Council on Exercise (A.C.E.) study, participants who included kettlebell swings (a staple kettlebell exercise) within their workout saw a 70 percent increase in core strength.
Also, when done properly, “swinging” can also improve mobility and range of option. For example, after my back problems decided to let me sweat again, I saw instant changes in my hip flexibility and core strength–both which help develop a strong back. And girl you already know numbers don’t lie: In another recent study, kettlebell enthusiasts performing a 20 minute snatch workout were measured to burn, on average, 13.6 calories/minute aerobically and 6.6 calories/minute anaerobically during the entire workout – “equivalent to running a 6-minute mile pace.” I mean who wouldn’t want to burn up to 20 calories/minute?! At this rate, you’ll fit into your ambitious one-size-too-small New Years ensemble!
Look Great In Eight (Weeks)
So now on to your kettlebell workout “saving grace:” KettleWorX. This fast, fun and effective kettlebell training program features three different training formats; cardio, core and resistance training. I mean, that’s all you need to prepare for the New Year sis! I had a blast testing this program and am 100% confident that you will too.
But there is more…you are going to lose your sweaty mind when you realize how effective these 20 minute workouts done 3X a week are. Yes, only 20 minutes. In that short amount of time you can burn up to 400 calories (scroll up and do the math yourself if you don’t believe me). This popular re-energized programming starts at $99.00 and includes six DVDs including the 8 WEEK RAPID EVOLUTION Cardio, Core and Resistance as well as the Supercharge Core, Upper Body and Lower Body training–annnnnnd comes along with a complete program including a Clean Eating Guide and Calendar to follow. Can you say, “winning!”
