Sadly, this season of “R&B Divas: LA”, has come to an end but not without first giving us an intense reunion special. And thanks to Lil Mo’s HelloBeautiful Twitter takeover, we had an all-access pass to the drama.
All of the ladies, minus Dawn, were present to defend their actions, confront their “enemies” from this past season and also clear up any misconceptions that we may have gotten from watching the show. Wendy Williams hosted and right from the start called Dawn a coward for not attending. The attention didn’t stay on Dawn for very long as Wendy went from diva to diva breaking down each of their actions on the show, their past relationship problems and their friendships (or lack thereof) with each other.
Find out what happened below, and watch the full episode here in case you missed it! Check back next Wednesday at 10pm, as Lil Mo takes over HelloBeautiful’s Twitter account for the second part of the reunion!
Relationship Woes
Hostess Wendy Williams didn’t waste any time and dove right in, touching on the girls’ past relationships. Claudette cleared up rumors that she slept with both members in City High (although in a way she kind of did) saying that she dated one of the members when she was a teenager and ended up marrying the other member once she became an adult. Wendy then asked Michel’le about her relationship with Suge Knight and Dr. Dre and she revealed that she did indeed date both of them and had a child with both. Wendy joked that her past relationships with them was probably the reason why she was still single today. Let’s be honest, those two are a little intimidating! Later in the episode, Wendy questioned Chante about her relationship with ex- husband Kenny Lattimore and asked if the reason for their divorce was because Kenny was secretly gay. Although Chante didn’t deny or confirm the rumors, she did say that she was still in a nasty custody battle with him over their son.

Is Kelly A Big Bully?
The biggest issue on this season was Kelly Price vs the rest of the girls. While most of us assumed that the drama started when Mo and Chante decided to have Fred direct the Diva Monologues, Wendy pointed out during the reunion special that the drama began long before that, when Kelly decided not to show up to Broadway in the Hood show that she was an avid supporter of. The girls decided that the show had to go on with out without Kelly’s presence and showed up on her behalf, much to the disappointment of the red carpet. The girls believed that it was unprofessional and selfish for Kelly not to attend the event at the last minute while Kelly insisted that she had a prior engagement and informed the ladies of her scheduling conflict before hand.
Later, Wendy brought up the Diva Monologues and we learned that the idea wasn’t totally Kelly’s but it Chante and the rest of the ladies has a huge input in creating the monologues as well. Kelly revealed that she didn’t trust Fred to bring out her deepest and darkest secrets (that she was raped by her older cousin as a child) and that’s why she was so harsh on his directing skills. The other ladies felt as if Kelly was being a big bully and extremely rude to Fred throughout the whole season and explained that their feelings of being hurt and betrayed by Kelly were genuine and now an act for the cameras. It didn’t look like the girls could come to a mutual agreement about what actually happened during the monologue practice or during the Broadway in the Hood red carpet, and they probably never would.
Are The Divas Scared Of Kelly Price?
Wendy then asked the million dollar question: are the girls intimated by Kelly Price? While they all agreed that intimated wasn’t the right emotion, they decided that Kelly was a true mean girl and a big bully. Lil Mo was the most hurt from this situation because she considered Kelly to be her big sister and one of her best friends. Once they stopped speaking, Mo revealed that their husbands tried to get the ladies speaking again and that Mo reached out to Kelly multiple times only for Kelly to ignore her and never return her phone calls. Mo explained that she had let the situation go and that it was in the past now, but she was very hurt that she lost one of her closest friends to this petty drama.
Kelly didn’t have much to say in response to the ladies after they called her mean and a bully but judging by the preview for next week’s reunion, it looked like she was saving all of her emotion until the very end!
