A Case Of The Ex ‘R&B Divas: LA’ [RECAP]

“R&B Divas: LA” returned last night as the ladies all came together to celebrate Chante’s birthday! Things got interesting when Chante’s ex husband came back in the picture with some bad news and Kelly finally revealed her top secret project that could ultimately bring the ladies closer together.

Chante’s Birthday

Chante was ecstatic that it was her birthday and even more excited that her bestie, Kelly, was putting together a lavish dinner party for her and all the ladies.  Kelly went all out for Chante’s dinner and made sure that the table had all of their favorites: lobster, crap, corn and more! During dinner, Kelly decided that it was time to let the girls in on her top-secret project. She wanted to the girls to get together for a monologue performance where the ladies would sing out their frustrations and life stories. Kelly believed that this would be a great bonding experience for the girls but also a great healing experience for them. They ladies all agreed to participate in the performance but knew that it would take some soul searching.

Spa Date

Michel’le and Dawn met for a girls spa date. While getting pampered, the ladies revealed secrets about their past and realized they had a lot more in common than they thought. Both women were in physically abusive relationship and marriages and both women were involved with men who had two and three children with an outside woman. Yikes! Although both of their situations were heartbreaking, they were glad that they were able to find comfort in each others stories. It seems like Kelly’s idea for a singing monologue would be the perfect outlet for these two.

Case Of The Ex

Claudette and her ex-husband and ex-band mate, Ryan Toby (City High) met for lunch. Ryan asked Claudette if she was thinking about recording music again and tried to push her to get back in the studio. Of course, as all meetings with your ex go, the conversation switched from music to their past relationship and Claudette realized that she wasn’t sure if she could trust herself around Ryan or trust Ryan at all for that matter. Ryan then made thing even more awkward when he asked Claudette if she still loved him. It looks like Claudette has a case of the ex.

On the other side of L.A, Chante was also meeting up with one of her ex- husbands, Kadeem Hardison. Chante ad Kadeem seem to have a great relationship even after their break up and Chante considered Kadeem as someone whom she could lean on for support. Chante confided in Kadeem that her other ex, Kenny Latimore, was suing her for full custody of their son. Chante’s emotions were all over the place from the whole ordeal and it was great to see Kadeem being there for support during this time.
