The tribute came right after news broke that George Zimmerman was acquitted of all charges related to the 17-year-old’s death in February 2012.

1. Young Jezzy
Just a day after George Zimmerman’s not-guilty verdict, rapper Young Jeezy dropped a tribute record for Trayvon. The track, titled “It’s a Cold World,” was posted on his Facebook account.
He wrote, “I am in no way shape, form, or fashion am trying to capitalize off of the latest series of events. These are my true feelings and my form of expression about it.”
2. Michael B Jordan
Michael B. Jordan has dedicated his new film Fruitvale Station, based on the life and death of Oscar Grant, to Trayvon Martin.
“My heart hurts so bad right now. I wasn’t going to come after I found out about George Zimmerman getting acquitted,” he said at a Los Angeles screening for the film last night. “That’s why I think this film means so much, because it keeps happening again and again. [We must] learn how to treat each other better and stop judging one another just because we’re different. It’s not just a black and white thing, it’s a people thing.”
On Twitter he added, “I cannot believe this is the America I live in right now.”
3. Al Sharpton
Al Sharpton said he is dedicating all his time and energy to ensure that justice is served for Trayvon.
“We always had a plan B. We now go to the Justice Department seeking civil rights charges,” he said. “We’re not gonna stop until we get justice.”
4. Trayvon’s Parents
For the last 17 months, Trayvon Martin’s parents demanded accountability from the justice system for their son’s death. They expressed their pain to the world and weren’t afraid to shed tears along the way. Now that the verdict has ruled against their best wishes, Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton left a few final worlds of gratitude for everyone on Twitter.
“Even though I am broken hearted my faith is unshattered I WILL ALWAYS LOVE MY BABY TRAY,” Martin tweeted. “Thanks to everyone who are with us and who will be with us we together can make sure that this doesn’t happen again.”
He added, “God blessed Me & Sybrina with Tray and even in his death I know my baby proud of the FIGHT we along with all of you put up for him GOD BLESS.”
Fulton wrote, “Lord during my darkest hour I lean on you. You are all that I have. At the end of the day, GOD is still in control. Thank you all for your prayers and support. I will love you forever Trayvon!!! In the name of Jesus!!!”
5. Jamie Foxx
Jamie Foxx has been openly passionate about the Trayvon Martin murder trial since February 2012, and he’s known for rocking t-shirts with the late teen’s face printed on the front.
“The reason for the shirt is that I met his mom personally. So my thing is, it’s not political, it’s not left, it’s not right, it’s not black, it’s not white, this is about the kid,” Foxx said after the 2013 BET Awards.”And so, 17 year old kid, I think he should be able to go home to where his father worked, to get into a nice place and that tragic thing happened — for all of us, no matter what color you are. I have kids [one who is] 19. I have a kid who’s 4. You want to protect them.”
