With limited positive depictions of Black women on television and in the media, it is refreshing when networks like the Style Network allow their platform to become a home where sisters like Tia and Tamera can spread their message to young girls and adoring fans. This Sunday at 10pm, “Tia & Tamera” will be broadcast into our living rooms, so gather the family, the girls and tune in to the Style Network at 8pm for a poised display of sisterhood, family fun and love.
And just in case you need anymore reasons to watch, here’s five:
They’re Great Role Models
Since their days as reunited identical twins on “Sister, Sister,” Tia and Tamera have taught respectable life lessons young girls can relate to and maintained a respectable image while doing so. Their ethics have translated into adulthood. At 35-years-old, Tia and Tamera continue to exemplify what it is to be strong women. The sisters pursued their dreams of being actresses, established their careers, got married, then had children!
Sisterhood At Its Finest
You don’t have to be twins to recognize how special it is to be a sister. Whether it’s in the literal sense or a title you’ve given your best girlfriend, the connection between two women is unbreakable. A sister is a friend, confidant and support system. Tia and Tamera’s sisterly bond is a great example of strong family values.
They’re Funny
Tia and Tamera are unforgettably beautiful, talented and focused. It’s hard to believe that even with those superior traits, they can crack a joke (a funny one at that!). We are well aware of their sense of humor from years of watching “Sister, Sister, “The Game” and many of their other works.
Family
Tia and Tamera come from a strong family foundation and made it their business to build their own. Tia married her husband Cory Hardrict in 2008 and gave birth to their son Cree Taylor Hardrict in June of 2011. Tamera walked down the aisle in 2011 to an awaiting Adam Housley. A year later she welcomed a baby boy named Aden John Tanner Housley into the world! The “Tia & Tamera” show will be a fresh look on black and interracial love.
A Break From The Typical Reality Show
Watching women bicker over silliness gets old after a while. How many reality TV show fights or scuffles can one endure? The “Tia & Tamera” show will embody what those other shows lack.
