Alicia Keys Says Swizz Beatz “Was So Annoying” When They First Met
Lovebirds Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz are known for their public displays of affection, so it’s hard to tell that the R&B powerhouse wasn’t really feeling her future husband-to-be in the beginning.
“Honestly, I didn’t really like him that much,” she admitted in the July issue of UK Marie Claire, which she graces the cover. “I was like, he is so annoying.”

“I though he was ostentatious. He’ll drive the fastest, brightest car, wear the biggest jewelry, the loudest jacket; everything with him is really over the top,” she said, reminiscing about when she first met the music producer when they were teenagers.
However, the “New Day” singer said one studio session changed it all. “I fought tooth and nail,” she said. “Finally though, we did it and we had a ball.”
Today, the happily married couple not only make good music together but share a beautiful life.
“I think we’ve taught each other a lot,” she revealed. “He’s taught me how to live more fully and I’ve taught him how to live more deeply.”
