Last year, the world was shocked to hear that Tamar Braxton suffers from vitiligo, the same skin condition as the late Michael Jackson. The mommy-to-be has  admitted that it’s a sensitive subject, but recently she’s been more and more open about her  disorder.

“Although I have NOTHING to prove….I have NOTHING to LIE about!” #donetalkingaboutthebleachB.S. #tamartheone,” she wrote on her Instagram account.

As we reported earlier, here’s what Tamar had to say about her battle with vitiligo in a recent interview.

“Anybody with skin issues knows that that’s a very sensitive subject and that’s why I’ve never shared that I have vitiligo because I do. I’ve always had it, since I was a young girl. It’s not as bad as others because everybody has it differently, but I’ve certainly had mine diagnosed. That’s why I tan. People say, “You bleach your skin!” But I tan just so I can have a better tone on my skin, boo! It’s gotten worse since I’ve gotten pregnant. If you shake my hand now, to me it’s more noticeable. But when you get diagnosed with a skin disorder, it’s hard. It does weigh on your self-esteem. It really does. But I’m done defending that. I’m not bleaching my skin and if I was bleaching my skin and I felt like saying so, I would, but for the record, I am not.”

We all suffer from our own individual conditions and stars get sick, too. Let’s take a look at 10 other celebs who have been open about their health issues.

1. Lil Wayne opens up about his battle with epilepsy.
“No warning, no nothing, I don’t feel sick. I get headaches real bad. And the headaches? I didn’t get no headaches or nothing,” the rapper said. “I go to sleep and wake up in the hospital. I don’t feel anything. I just hope it stops happening.”

2. Toni Braxton discusses her battle with the autoimmune disease lupus.
“Today, I’m going to talk about it because I’m a survivor and I’m here, and I don’t want to lose hope,” she said. “Take a look — this is what lupus looks like.”

3. Will.i.am reveals he suffers from ADHD.

“I have ADHD. I’ll admit it,” the music man said in a recent interview. “I’ve got all this stuff in my head at the same time as I’m doing stuff and I don’t know how to stop or slow down. But it’s all good because I know how to control it.”

4. Kim Kardashian opens up about her battle with the immune-mediated disease psoriasis.

“When the doctor tells me I have psoriasis, I have heard of it before, because my mom has always had it,” the reality star revealed on her show. “People don’t understand the pressure on me to look perfect. When I gain a pound, it’s in the headlines. Imagine what the tabloids would do to me if they saw all these spots?”

5. Halle Berry talks her diabetes.

“Diabetes caught me completely off guard,” the actress explained. “One day, I simply passed out, and I didn’t wake up for seven days, which is obviously very serious.”

6. Montel Williams opens up about his fight with life-threatening neurological disease multiple sclerosis.

“My primary symptom is pain. I’ve got pain from my shins to my feet 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and it’s been there for the last 10 years,” the former talk show host said in an interview with Oprah. “A couple times my commercial breaks would be a little long and people wouldn’t understand why. Because when I hurt like this, I go backstage, sit down for a second, let out a good cry, let it go, refocus, come back out and sit down and do another interview. … I was doing that every day.”

7. Missy Elliott talks about her struggle with Graves’ disease.

“You live with it for the rest of your life,” the rapper and producer revealed about her disease. “Under my doctor’s supervision, I’ve been off medication for about a year and I’m completely managing the condition through diet and exercise.”

8. DMX discusses how his bipolar disorder affects his life.

“I used to be really clear on who was what and what characteristics each personality had. But I don’t know at this point. I’m not even sure there is a difference,” he said. “I’m Earl when I’m with my children. I miss my children, I miss my children, I miss my children.”

9. Venus Williams talks her struggle with the incurable immune system disease Sjogren’s syndrome.

“To carry the torch today on World Sjögren’s day was so fitting,” the tennis player said after she received a gold medal at last year’s Olympic games. “My run with the flame today represented triumph for everyone battling an auto immune disease. I’m planning on enjoying every day at the Olympics, I won’t take even one for granted!”

10. Nick Cannon discusses being diagnosed with a lupus-like autoimmune disease.

The technical term is lupus nephritis. It’s a rare form of lupus that’s just attacking my kidneys,” he explained. “They thought it was just kidney disease and then they were trying to figure out why my immune system was attacking my kidneys and that was sort of the root of it all.”
