While most teenagers are hoping for a car, an iPad, new clothes or a pair of shoes for their birthday, Jaden Smith–son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith who are two of the biggest movie stars in the world–wants something a little different. What do you get the teen that’s already starred in more than one film, traveled the world and has more money at the age of 14 then some of us have at 24? Jaden’s only request for his 15th birthday is to be emancipated from his parents and live on his own! If you’re anything like me, you’re wondering why would this 14-year-old request to leave the coolest parents in the world to start a life on his own? Especially since many of us have been trying to figure out a way to be adopted into the Smith family ourselves. After all, if many of us were placed in Jaden’s shoes, I doubt we would even think about leaving the house until we were at least 40. Considering the circumstances, we’ve come up with a list of reasons why Will and Jada are the coolest parents in the world, and Jaden should definitely, absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt, reconsider.

Aside from being an extremely attractive couple, Will and Jada are two of the biggest movie stars in the world! Starring in movies such as “Bad Boys”, “Enemy of The State”, “Ali” and “I Am Legend” (and that’s not to mention Jada’s movie resume) proves that Will and Jada are extremely talented actors with extensive clout in Hollywood.
Anyone raised in the 1990s grew up watching Will Smith play in “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air,” which was arguably one of the best sitcoms on television during that time. The show is a favorite of many and even reruns of it never get old! While some of us can recite every episode word for word and still laugh hysterically whenever Will cracks on Uncle Phil, the show alone gives Will a couple extra cool points on the “cool parent” scale!
You’ve heard Will and Jada do countless interviews where they discuss their parenting skills stating and how they, pretty much, allow their children to do whatever they want and live in a household with no rules. Hearing the words “no rules” is every teenagers dream! Who wouldn’t want to do whatever they wanted to do at 14 years old, and since Will and Jada don’t have any rules in the first place, why leave?

Will and Jada hosted the 2005 BET Awards making it one of the best and most memorable award shows to date. After doing a hilarious skit spoofing the movie, “Mr. & Mrs. Smith”, Will and Jada made a couple jokes about Destiny Child’s “Cater 2 U” performance and Jada opted to give Will a special lap dance on stage. Jada has openly talked about her friendship/relationship with late rapper, Tupac, where she stated that although the two were never officially romantically involved, they did share a strong bond. In a radio interview, she stated:
“Pac and I were never in a romance but I feel as though we had those feelings. It was more of a “platonic romance” between each other. We knew us being together in a romantic way would destroy everything because we were both fire. We would burn everything up! So we knew in order to preserve our relationship there was no way we could ever add romance to it cause we probably would’ve killed each other!”
Come on, Tupac…
Will and Jada had the chance to interview President Barack Obama back in 2009 right after he was elected into his first term in office. Will admitted that he was “nervous” for the first time but had Jada right by his side supporting him the whole way through. The fact that Will and Jada are friends with the first black president of the United States of America is reason alone to make Will and Jada the coolest parents in the world.
