1. NeNe Leakes

“I used the name Holly and then Silk. I thought I made pretty good money. It was a great hustle,” The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star said of her stripper days. “If I needed to make $1,000, I got dressed and went to the club. If me and my roommate needed $5,000 by the weekend, I would work all week. What you mentally wanted to make, you could make. Everybody dancing beside you is usually another student. Atlanta strip clubs are full of students. There are a lot of conventions there. You can make a ton of money. I remember working at the strip club about a month and then bought a new car. The money was fast.”

2. Amber Rose

“I was a stripper since I was 15 years old,” Amber Rose said in an interview with Fox News. “I was a South Philly hood rat my whole life.”

3. Draya

“I stripped for a few years. Kinda like off and on just whenever I needed something,” Draya admitted during an interview with Wendy Williams. “Anything you do in your past can be cleaned up.”

4. Eve

“[Mase] came into the club and looked at me and literally was like, ‘What’s your name?’ And I gave him every stripper name under the sun!,” Eve said on an episode of VH1’s “Behind the Music.” “I was like, ‘I’m Ginger, I’m Sassy!’ He was like, ‘Why don’t you go get dressed, let’s go just talk.’ And we did, we talked throughout the night. He was like, ‘You’re really talented. What are you doing? You know you’re not supposed to be here. You know it.’ … It was a confirmation for me that all these thoughts, all this sadness. All these times that I wake up in the morning, I’m like, ‘Why do I feel like this?’ And I know I’m not supposed to be there. It just woke me up.”

5. Channing Tatum

“We were sitting over a beer and I told [director Steven Soderbergh] that I was a stripper for eight months when I was nineteen,” Tatum said of the inception of Magic Mike. “And he said that would be a great movie. And I said, ‘Well I want to make a movie out of it.’ And he’s said, ‘You should write it.’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah Soderbergh, Steven Soderbergh I’ll go write that.’ Cut to three or four months later, I read an interview where he said that he would be willing to direct.”

6. Joseline Hernandez

“I have never let a man dig all up in my kitty cat, honey! I was a classic stripper. The top-of-the-line stripper,” Joseline said in an interview with Rolling Out. “Guys didn’t even touch me, honey! I use to be on stage, and make $10,000 in three songs.”

7. Lady Gaga

“I was working in strip clubs when I was 18. Girls from my background weren’t meant to turn into someone like me. I come from a wealthy Italian family, went to a good school. You’re meant to live with Mom and Dad until they die,” she explained. “I went against all I was brought up to be; I moved out of home, wouldn’t take any help from my parents and supported myself with waitressing jobs and stripping.”
