President Obama was introduced by DJ Khaled’s “All I Do Is Win,” and kicked off his speech by silencing the haters. “Second term, baby!” he said.
2. When he gave himself a “Michelle Obama” makeover.
“I recognize that this job can take a toll on you. I understand that second term you need a burst of new energy and try some new things,” Obama said. “My team and I talked about it and we’re willing to try anything, so we borrowed one of Michelle’s tricks.”
“I think this looked pretty good, but no bounce,” he joked.
3. When he called Jay-Z once of his “problems.”
President Obama called Jay-Z and Beyonce’s controversial trip to Cuba “unbelievable.”
“Yes, maybe I have lost a step. But some things are beyond my control. For example, this whole controversy about Jay-Z going to Cuba — it’s unbelievable, ” he said. “I’ve got 99 problems and now Jay-Z is one.”
He went on to address “The O’Reilly Factor” host, saying, “That’s another rap reference, Bill.”
4. When he made a joke about smoking pot in college.
“I remember Buzz Feed was just something I did in college around 2 a.m.,” he said. After holding for laughs, he continued, “It’s true.”
5. When Conan O’Brien joked about job creation.
“Since he was reelected,” O’Brien said, “the number of popes has doubled and the number of Tonight Show hosts has tripled.”
