Change.org is one of the biggest petition platforms on the internet. It allows people around the world to voice their opinions, all the while encouraging like-minded individuals to join in on their fight. Change.org wants people to change their communities, no matter how big or small the issue is.

So obviously this opens up the site to receiving ridiculous petitions that get the same amount of exposure as the petitions to stop gun violence or to shut down Shawty Lo and all his baby’s mommas. We’ve cruised Change.org and found some of the most ridiculous petitions they have to offer. Check them out here:
I get it. The obsession with Shonda Rhimes’ “Scandal” has created a cult following and their constant breaks in programming has sparked several complaints from the show’s following. This petition says enough is enough!
“Gladiators/Scandalistas/Scandalists everywhere have not gotten over our initial shock that there will be no Scandal AGAIN for 3 more weeks. Instead of whining and complaining, we are doing something about it! Shonda Rhimes is NOT the reason there’s another hiatus.”
Phone contracts are very binding, but binding to the point of needing a petition to get you out of your contracts? I’ve always signed phone contracts and never had any need or reason to opt out early. So I don’t get the full urgency of this petition, but maybe some of you out there are well-versed in the difficulty of ending a contract with a phone company. You’re obviously not alone.
“So here’s your chance: sign this petition to tell Verizon to end carrier contracts and create an affordable way for consumers to purchase their devices. You don’t have to leave Verizon or have plans to leave. I’ve been a long-time Verizon customer and I don’t see myself ever leaving; but I want that choice myself; I don’t want them making it for me and imposing stiff penalties if I do decide to leave.”
I find it hard to believe that this petition has 19k plus supporters. I’ve heard about the magic and wonder or In-N-Out Burger, but for the folks that refuse red meat–perhaps you should just stay away from burger joints all together? Just a thought.
“It’s the 21st century and I think it’s high time they offer a veggie burger option for customers who don’t want to eat animals or just want a little diversity with an environmentally-friendly, healthier option once in a while.”
At first glance, this petition sounds ridiculous, however, it might be right on track. McDonald’s has brainwashed us all for years with their delicious, yet dangerous fast food. Although I love a good chicken nugget moment, admittedly, McDonald’s food is not in any way shape or form good for us. But I don’t think that means Ronald should be without a job!
“For nearly 50 years no one has been better at hooking kids on unhealthy food, spurring an epidemic of diet-related disease. Ronald deserves a break, and so do we!”
Although this petition was a White House petition, it still deserves a mention. R. Kelly has a lot of great classic hits, but none of them are appropriate for our country’s anthem. Ok, maybe “Ignition,” according to this petition.
“We, the undersigned, would like the Obama administration to recognize the need for a new national anthem, one that even a decade after its creation, is still hot and fresh out the kitchen. America has changed since Francis Scott Key penned our current anthem in 1814. Since then, we have realized that after the show, it’s the afterparty, and that after the party, it’s the hotel lobby, and–perhaps most importantly–that ’round about four, you’ve got to clear the lobby, at which point it’s strongly recommended that you take it to the room and freak somebody. President Obama: we ask you to recognize the evolution of this beautiful country and give us an anthem that better suits the glorious nation we have become.”
