Not long after two bombs exploded near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, known conspiracy theorists like Alex Jones didn’t hesitate to label the tragedy a “false flag.” In the wake of “9/11” and the more recent Sandy Hook Shooting, people have been more accepting of the idea that these very atrocities could be staged and or a ploy by the government to violate our civil liberties! Skeptics have risen and despite the carnage, people aren’t buying into the hype like they used to.
The first bomb went off at approximately 2:50 pm and the second–550 feet from the primary explosion–10 seconds later. Three people were killed and 170 plus people were injured. Medical examiners observed that some victims had “40 or more”pieces of shrapnel made of pellets, nails and sharp metallic objects, reports FoxNews. There are currently no suspects.
September 11th Conspiracy Theories Worth Considering
Alex Jones, who also believes that the Oklahoma City federal building bombing was a set-up by the federal government, was among the first to call out the bombing as a constructed act by the FBI. He also pointed non-believers to this clip of “Family Guy” that predicted a similar occurrence, an entire month before it happened.
Coincidence? Possibly.
Here are the major theories that are bubbling:
There were planned “control explosion” at the same time, in the same location.
According to Alex Jones, the verified news account @BostonGlobe tweeted (It has since been removed):
“They kept making announcements saying to the participants ‘do not worry, this is just a training exercise’” said an eyewitness on the scene–Ali Stevenson, Mobile Cross Country Coach. “They kept announcing to runners not to be alarmed, that they were running a training exercise,” Stevenson told AL.com.
The FBI knew
Alleged Eyewitness Ali Stevenson claims authorities “must have known” about the bombing because their was heightened security, equipped with bomb sniffing dogs, in the area and had “spotters” on the roof– more than any security force he has scene at any marathon. “They must have had some sort of threat or suspicion called in.”
Why?
The real question here seems to be why? Why would the government want to kill their own people? Money, of course! Skeptics have two ideas why the Boston Marathon Bombing happened.
The price of gold dropped
Jones has many several prominent ideas why the bombing took place. “With gold plunging, what could this signify?” he asked on his radio show.
Boston has historical significance and so does the April 15th date
“I said on air that they’re getting ready to blow something up. To fire a shot heard round the world like at Lexington and Concord, and then they do it at this same place on the same day!” he said.
Alex Altman of Time noted on Twitter, “Today is Patriots’ Day, which has significance for militia movement. McVeigh bombed Murrah Bldg on Patriots’ Day in 1995.” Patriots’ Day, a civil holiday in Massachusetts, commemorates those battles outside Boston that sparked the American Revolution. The holiday is now celebrated on the third Monday of April, though the battles actually took place on April 19, meaning the two dates are often conflated. This year, Patriots’ Day also falls on Tax Day, another important date for right-wing extremists. For all these reasons, Jones predicted that while “they might blame it on the Muslims, they’re going to blame it on the Tea Party.”
