Beyonce Opens Up On Her New Animated Role In ‘Epic’

The promotional machine that is Beyonce Knowles is pushing out new products left and right. Next up on the list is 20th Century FOX movie Epic, where Queen Bey will star as Queen Tara.

Knowles recently released a promo trailer for the film, detailing why she signed up for the role and what fans can expect from her first animated character.

“This is one time when the film really lives up to it’s title,” the triple threat said. “Everything in this movie is big: the action [and] the characters.”

According to a press release, Epic will tell the story of “a teenage girl who finds herself magically transported into a secret world, where she must band together with a rag-tag team of characters to save their world —and the real world.”

Knowles is lending her voice to the character of Queen Tara. “I’ve always imaged being in an animated film. I always imagined being a queen,” she said. “Queen Tara is very important in Epic. She’s preserved the beauty in her natural world and the safety of her people.”

Others stars in this project include Colin Farrell, Steven Tyler, Josh Hutcherson, Amanda Seyfried, Johnny Knoxville, Aziz Ansari, Jason Sudeikis and rapper Pitbull.
