Paul Ryan's Ex-GF Served Prison Time For Wire Fraud
Paul Ryan’s Black Ex-Girlfriend Did Time In Prison For Wire Fraud
Vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan’s ex-girlfriend Denetta Pope has quite the past. The ex-cheerleader was allegedly indicted by the Feds back in 1999 and spent five months in prison for committing wire fraud TMZ has learned.
Pope Pope gained national attention via Twitter when a tweet was sent by CNN’s Peter Hamby that read:
“Paul Ryan to Milwaukee Magazine in 2005: ‘I have a sister-in-law who’s African American. My college sweetheart was black.'”
Everyone in politics wanted to know who was this mystery woman? TMZ dug deep and revealed her identity, but once contacted by the gossip site, Pope said:
‘I’m not interested in talking. I don’t know why everyone is calling. I’m newly married and would just like to be left alone.”
Ryan and Pope met at Miami University of Ohio in the early 90’s about 10 years before she was indicted.
