Named the Ambassador of World Humanitarian Day of 2012, Beyonce took to the stage yesterday to sing the event’s theme song and a Sasha Fierce hit, “I Was Here.” Draped in all white, Beyonce served up angelic realness as the Deputy Secretary General Jan Eliasson introduced the superstar to the crowd at the General Assembly Hall. As Beyonce took the stage in a body-hugging white sequin gown, the floor-to-ceiling screens lit up with images of regions around the world that have been struck by disaster, also flashing the faces of humanitarian workers.

Because, I’ve gotta tell you … I wanna be here every Friday night if this goes on.” The crowd sang Bey’s potent lyrics with her and at the end, Bey thanked everyone and encouraged them to do their part for World Humanitarian Day.
Beyonce has this way of making a call for humanitarianism a celebration. The United Nations made the right choice picking Beyonce. She used her stunning talents to inspire the public to help people that are in need.
