Olympic hurdler Lolo Jones is more than just another pretty brown face with light eyes. She’s a girl with substance and standards. Jones has made headlines recently for stating she’s waiting for marriage before she jumps in between the sheets. She’s been quoted saying that maintaining her virginity is a feat tougher than training for the Olympics.

“It’s just a gift I want to give my husband. But please understand this journey has been hard. There’s virgins out there and I want to let them know that it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. Harder than training for the Olympics. Harder than graduating from college has been to stay a virgin before marriage. I’ve been tempted, I’ve had plenty of opportunities.”

There’s not enough role models like Lolo in the mainstream media. I am so glad someone with her morals is getting major attention. However, I’d love to see someone with her strong will dating in Hollywood. I believe that it would show young girls out there looking for someone to emulate, that you don’t have to be raunchy, overtly sexy or even suggestive towards the opposite sex to be appealing.
