Rihanna: "You Da One" Video Steals From Photographer's Work?
Did Rihanna Steal Another Photographer’s Work For “You Da One” Video?
Rihanna has been accused of stealing again! Earlier this year, she had to pay $1 million to photographer David LaChappelle for copying his work in her “S&M” video; now, the victim is Sølve Sundsbø.
There is one scene in particular, in which her nude body, painted in white, writhes around the ground, under shadows of polka dots and stripes. The image looks strikingly similar to one that Sundsbø created with Lithuanian model Edita Vilkeviciute.
This seems to be a reccurring offense for Riri and Beyonce, so we have to ask again: is this stealing or inspiration? And should we blame director, Melina Matsoukas?
