L’Officiel Brings Black Beauty To The Forefront For Their September Issue
We tend to rave when a magazine decides to place one Black queen on the cover of their September issue (the most coveted of the year, just ask Kendall Jenner) … so just imagine how happy we are when they put eight diverse and strong women on one cover?
L’Officiel bigged-up melanin for the biggest issue of the year, placing some of the largest stars and women of influence on the cover and boldly titling it: GANG OF AFRICA. Underneath, it clearly states: Black Beauty Matters. Yes, it does.
Model and entrepreneur Iman and singer Ciara grace the cover. Stunning supermodel Ajak Deng posed elegantly.
Oh, and you can be sure there were some big names behind the scenes as well. Jenke Ahmed Tailly, who styles and creates for some of the biggest stars, including Kanye West and Beyoncé, created an ode to Africa. Solange was also involved with the photography in collaboration with photographer Ellen von Unwerth.
