While many people’s New Year’s resolutions include getting in shape and getting out of debt, one little girl’s plan is to impact the lives of others. In Norfolk, Virginia, nine-year-old Gianni Graham, has pledged to give 1,000 barbie dolls to 1,000 girls in foster care and homeless shelters.
“I feel like girls in shelters should have the same as girls not in shelters,” she said in an interview with her local news station.
Every doll will also include a hand-written letter from Gianni. “I wanted to inspire them and give them encouragement” she added.
To show her commitment to the cause, instead of playing with two dolls she received for Christmas, Gianni has donated the Barbies to her campaign.
The little girl’s selflessness has gone viral. Gianni has already received 700 Barbie dolls from her classmates as well as the community. To contribute to Gianni’s cause you can visit the 1kbarbiesfor1kgirls Instagram page or the website.
Thank you Gianni for leading by example!
