How Did Ms. Lawrence Land ‘Empire?’
We were all surprised when we spotted RHOA personality Ms. Lawrence from the recently cancelled Fashion Queens on the season two premiere of Empire.
How did he land the gig?
While goofing around with his Fashion Queens co-star Bevy Smith, Ms. Lawrence did a spot-on impression of Cookie Lyon. Smith sent the video to her good friend Lee Daniels with the message ‘Hire him!’ Lee responded ‘Done!’ Ms. Lawrence was able to audition a few weeks later and the rest is history
It pays having good friends in high places.

In “rappers do the dumbest things” news, Rich Homie Quan is reportedly being investigated by child protective services after a video of him smoking what looks a blunt with his one-year-old son on his lap went viral.
Just plain stupid.
Can’t blame Child protective services for actually doing their job. But let this be a lesson: don’t post videos of yourself doing stupid things around your kid for the world to see.
SMH.

Oprah isn’t doing that Birdman hand rub for nothing.
Not only is she executive producing OWN’s newest show Greenleaf, but she is also set to appear on the megachurch drama. According to Entertainment Weekly, the show follows several generations of the Greenleaf family, which sits at the head of the Greenleaf World Ministries. The show stars Keith David as Bishop James Greanleaf and legend Lynn Whitfield as Lady Mae. Oprah will portray Mavis McCready, Lady Mae’s sister.
OWN’s official description describes is: “Like so many megachurches in America, Greenleaf World Ministries is more than just a house of worship. It’s a home. But beneath its steeple lies a den of iniquity.”
Sounds like it will be another great OWN drama.
Go O!
