Rachel Dolezal Grew Up Drawing Herself With Brown Crayon
During an interview on The Today Show, Rachel Dolezal, without a bit of hesitation, admitted, “I identify as Black.” Oh really.
The disgraced former NAACP leader made headlines last week after an interviewer asked, “Are you African-American?” Unsure what to say, Rachel abruptly walked off-camera. She had been exposed.
“The timing of it was completely unexpected,” Rachel told Matt Lauer during their candid sit-down. “I did feel at some point I would need to address the complexity of my identity.”
Dolezal revealed her identity crisis began at 5-years-old. “I was drawing self-portraits with the brown crayon instead of the peach crayon, and black curly hair,” she explained.
In hindsight, Dolezal says she would only do certain things differently.
“There are probably a couple of interviews that I would do differently if circumstances, in retrospect, I knew what I know now.”
To further add insult to injury,
“My life has been one of survival and the decisions that I have made along the way, including my identification, have been to survive and to carry forward in my journey and life continuum.”
Every single thing Rachel Dolezel did for the Black community, during her time as the NAACP President, she could have done as a White woman. There is no excuse for this. No ma’am.
