NYPD Cop Responsible For Chokehold Death Of Staten Island Man Stripped Of His Badge
The New York Police Department has stripped a Staten Island Cop of his gun and his badge after putting one man in a chokehold that killed him.

The demotion comes as a new seven-minute video of this week’s fatal confrontation was posted online. The clip shows no less than eight cops surrounding the an handcuffed and unconscious Eric. He appears lifeless at that point as his head droops on the sidewalk. The cops don’t provide him with any medical aid until the EMTs arrived on the scene and he was loaded into an ambulance. NYPD commissioner Bill Bratton was furious after viewing the video. The investigation is supposed to determine whether cops had a valid reason to use that much force on Eric. A source told the Post that they definitely didn’t.
Tactically, very little was done right,” the tipster said. “The first two cops didn’t engage Garner . . . They appear to know him. Do something to put him at ease.”
