It was a celebration of music yesterday at the Empire Hotel as New Yorkers came out to kick off Grammy weekend and witness the launch of Gain’s first ever single-use detergent (new Gain flings)! All of the Braxton sisters were in attendance to help celebrate the product launch while we enjoyed a live performance from the eldest Braxton sister, Toni Braxton! After the performance, we got a chance to chat with some of the sisters about their marriages, careers, baby Logan and even gained a little bit of relationship and personal advice!

HelloBeautiful: We’re all huge fans of the show and this season it seems like it’s a lot of bickering going on between the older sisters and Tamar! Why so much drama between the sisters this season?
Tamar: I have absolutely no idea! I’ve been trying to get to the bottom of it for months!
Trina: I think it’s apart of any relationship – whether you’re sisters or friends. You’re always going to go through things. Eventually it’s going to dissipate. We love each other! Ultimately we do. That’s the bottom line.
HB: Trina, how is Tamar as a new mom?
Trina: Tamar is a fabulous mom! I have to be honest. I thought her Louboutins and her bags would take precedence but little Logan is such a bundle of joy for the whole family! She has to share him! He’s a community baby and she’s a selfish mother! We let her hold our babies! [laughs]
Tamar: Well I didn’t know it [motherhood] was gonna be like that!
HB: Tamar, how is it balancing your busy career and being a new mom?
Tamar: It’s so easy! I have a very easy baby, he’s nothing like his mom! He’s not dramatic at all! He’s very much like Vince, real laid back and cool, but its so much fun. I have a job where I can bring him with me so if I’m shooting with the girls I can bring him with me or if I’m at “The Real” he can come in my dressing room and hang out all day!
HB: Speaking of, what’s going on with “The Real”?
Tamar: It’s coming back in September! I’m excited!
HB: Awesome! Now let’s get to your music! What are you thinking will be the next single?
Tamar: “Pieces” or “Prettiest Girl.” I’m not sure. But I am going to start working on my new album!
HB: Oh wow already!?
Tamar: Yes, God!
HB: What would you say is your favorite song off your album?
Tamar: All of them. I can’t pick because I made this music and I chose these songs because I never thought I’d have this opportunity again and I wanted to make like a last dinner album. Like if you were in jail and you had your last meal and you wanted it to be the bomb and that’s what this album is for me. So I can’t pick a favorite.
Trina: “Love and War” and “The One”.
HB: This question is for all of you, if you could give your younger self relationship advice, what would you say?
Trina: Don’t marry your first husband!
Tamar: I would tell myself to believe in myself and not care what anybody else has to say because they’re going to like you or not like you no matter what. So be you and be happy with you.
Toni: I would have enjoyed it more, I would have dated more. I would have been a little more of a slut. I would have just dated and enjoyed myself. I wouldn’t have been so sterile in my career. I would have been young. I would have got in trouble like Justin (Bieber)! He’s supposed to! He’s 19! No really, I would have done more things like that. One of my favorites is Rihanna because she dares to live her life under her rules and I love that!
HB: What’s going on in your dating life?
Toni: I have to get comfortable dating. I’m so dated with dating! I forgot how to date! It’s not like riding a bike. I don’t know how much game I should play! Should I play a game? Do I want to play? Like, I really don’t want to play! And I don’t want to be a cougar! I want to be the young hot thing. But I’m 46 so I really don’t have a lot of choices!
HB: It’s nothing wrong with being a cougar!
Toni: It’s nothing wrong with it! But I just want to be the young hot thing! That’s what I’m saying! To each his own.
HB: What’s the youngest you would date?
Toni: I’m 46 so I hate to say 40- 42 because I would like to say 47-52.
HB: What are some qualities you’re looking for in a mate?
Toni: A nice guy but he has to have a little bit of coins! That’s important! I want my money to be cute like, “oh look at her little bank account, that’s so cute!” I need cuteness in my life! So I’m just being honest! I mean, he can’t be this rich asshole! He has to be a nice guy and have substance and be a good person but I’m older – I’m not 20 years old anymore -so I need security in my life.
