Robin Roberts Reveals She’s Gay & Has A Girlfriend In Heartwarming Facebook Post

“Good Morning America” co-host Robin Roberts publicly acknowledged that she’s in a relationship with a woman for the first time today.

In a heartwarming, end-of-the-year Facebook post, the cancer survivor thanked her family, friends and longtime girlfriend Amber Laign for helping her through this difficult year.

“At this moment I am at peace and filled with joy and gratitude. I am grateful to God, my doctors and nurses for my restored good health,” she wrote. “I am grateful for my entire family, my long time girlfriend, Amber, and friends as we prepare to celebrate a glorious new year together.”

So who is the special woman in Roberts’ life? Amber Laign is a San Francisco Bay-area native and licensed massage therapist who specializing in patients recovering from injuries. Sources say the lovebirds, who met though mutual friends, have been dating for 10 years.

“On this last Sunday of 2013 I encourage you to reflect on what you are grateful for too,” Roberts concluded. “Wishing you a Healthy and Happy New Year. Peace, love, and blessings to all..XO.”

The Facebook post marks the first anniversary of the 100th day of her recovery. The 53-year-old anchor underwent a bone marrow transplant to treat a rare blood disorder called myelodysplastic syndrome in 2012.
