Beyonce Album Sales: 30,000 in 3 Hours

The queen has returned to claim her throne!

Beyonce dropped her fifth album “Beyonce” at 12am last night and in a matter of three hours, the mother of this great civilization sold 80,000 copies, according to Billboard.com. “Beyonce” features  collaborations with Drake, Blue Ivy, Jay Z and Frank Ocean.

Rumor has it that Beyonce put out her album in a “rush” last night because the record label wouldn’t back it. Don’t judge me, but the source is MediaTakeout (hey,it could be accurate):

According to a TOP SNITCH at Sony BMG, Beyonce’s late night album release was NOT meant to happen this way at all.

We spoke with TWO insiders who BOTH confirm that the label execs DID NOT LIKE Beyonce’s album, felt that she was moving in too “RATCHET” a direction, and were prepared to CUT THEIR LOSSES and scrap the entire album. They were DEFINITELY NOT willing to spend any $$ for promotion.

Beyonce – taking advice from Jay Z – felt confident about the album, and it’s potential sales. So Jay Z urged her, and she agreed, to pull a POWER MOVE. She basically told the label – RELEASE IT NOW, no promo.

If the album sells well, you can expect the label to OPEN UP THEIR WALLETS and pay for promo – that means interviews and the like. If it doesn’t – we’re told that Bey and her people are ALREADY HARD AT WORK with some “spin.” We’re told if it FLOPS (which doesn’t seem likely), they’ll just pretend it was only a mixtape – and a way to ORGANICALLY connect with her fans.

A source tells Star Magazine:

“Diana Ross doesn’t want Ashlee’s hard partying lifestyle to rub off on Evan. Diana’s worried that Ashlee will bring him down,” reveals a close family friend.

Indeed, during a recent flight the couple were on, pals say Ashlee, 29, was a drunken mess. “She was dancing wildly around first class,” says the insider. “She was such an embarrassment.”

It’s being reported that after four years of marriage filled with rumors about Lamar’s drug habits, Khloe not being able to have kids and both parties being spotted on dates with other people, the Khlomar experience is coming to a close.

TMZ is reporting that Khloe will be citing irreconcilable differences in her legal docs. The split should be pretty cut and dry, as they have an ironclad prenup which kept all their assets separate and of course, there are no kids.

It seems the final straw for Khloe (who was always supportive of her husband) was the weird video he posted, where he claimed he cheated on her. Shortly after TMZ posted the video, Khloe stopped wearing her ring. Aww, I was rooting for Khlomar. :-(

Complex put out a list of the Best 50 Albums from 2013 and one album they overlooked was Wale’s “The Gifted.” While I am personally a huge fan of Wale, I have no patience for the recurring hissy fits he throws when he doesn’t get his way.

The MMG rapper called up Complex and told them that they have a personal vendetta against him, “You telling me it’s not personal is a bold faced lie,” but by the end of the call, Wale was screaming at the top of his lungs; I’m sure a vein was popping out of his head. “I swear to God I will come to that office and start knocking n*ggas the f*ck out. You want to see some ghetto ignorant sh*t?!” Do yourself a favor and listen to Wale’s rant, which surely rivals anything Kanye West may have ever said.

Despite Beyonce’s epic album release last night, The Roc Nation Princess, Rihanna is still managing to gain some major musical attention. The “What Now” singer has joined musical legend, Michael Jackson as an artist with an impressive number one singles on the Billboard charts.

It’s being reported that this week Eminem’s single “Monster” ft Rihanna went to number one, bringing RiRi’s total Billboard number one singles to 13!

Rihanna is amongst amazing company as The Beatles hold the number one spot with 20 number one singles, Mariah Carey holds the second spot with 18 number one singles, followed by Michael Jackson and Rihanna, who are tied with 13.
