Miley Cyrus Could Actually Be TIME Magazine’s Person Of The Year!
Barack Obama. Mark Zuckerberg. Miley Cyrus. Ben Bernanke. Which one of these names does not belong?
Miley Cyrus, of course.
The 21-year-old twerk-loving pop star is currently winning TIME magazine’s online poll for the 2013 Person of the Year. With 23.8 percent of the vote, Miley is leading Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan (16.4 percent), NSA leaker Edward Snowden (4.8 percent), teen activist Malala Yousafzaic (1.3 percent) and even the Pope (1.2 percent).

The publication describes the title as the person who “most influenced the news this year for better or worse,” so, unfortunately for all the people who actually brought forth meaningful change this year, Miley is a good contender.
There’s still another five days of voting left so the numbers are subjected to change. Voters are required to cast their vote through Twitter and Facebook so that may have something to do with the young star’s popularity, as well.
The results of the poll will be revealed on December 6. TIME editors will announce their selected person of the year for the annual cover on December 11.
