Love & Hip Hop New York Episode 2 Recap

My anticipation for last night’s episode of “Love & Hip Hop” was as high as Peter Gunz was when he made the impetuous decision to marry his side chick Amina Buddafly. It is for that very reason that I counted down the minutes until I was reunited with the casts’ cyclonic story lines. And deliver it did!

Mrs. Pankey

We picked up precisely where the prior episode of “L&HH” left off–Amina Buddafly revealing her and Peter Gunz’s big secret– that they were married–to Rich Dollaz who was interested in possibly signing Amina to he and Yandy Smith’s record label. Peter, upset with Amina for spilling the tea, scolded her because he swore her to secrecy–mostly because he was still in a relationship with the mother of his children, Tara. But Amina just couldn’t understand why she was still being treated like the mistress when she had the ring. As in most side chick turned wifey cases, Amina took matters into her own dainty hands, doing what Peter promised to  do “tomorrow” and “tomorrow” again. But, to her dismay, she did more harm than good, because Rich (who was in a similar situation last season with Erica Mena) didn’t share her enthusiasm about the nuptials, he was concerned instead and didn’t want to be apart of their love triangle. Who would?

Rich presented his newly found information to his business partner Yandy who has a personal relationship with Tara. That’s when we found out that Yandy, unknowing of the situation, invited Tara and Amina to K. Michelle’s birthday bash.

Peter Gunz Stirs Up Trouble Between Saigon & His Baby’s Mother

It wasn’t long into the hour before Peter Gunz went stirring up more trouble, this time between Saigon and his buxom baby’s momma Erica Jean. Gunz suggested Sai get a paternity test for his son and because Sai is as simple as his friend, the seed was instantly planted. Sai wasted no time bringing it up to Erica Jean while they uncomfortably conversed in his Benz outside of Erica’s house because she still lives with her father and he doesn’t support her and Saigon as a couple.

As Sai and Erica’s story unfolded, we found out that they didn’t have much of a history because they were both at a time in their life when they wanted to have a child–so they just did. They didn’t take the time to get to know one another nor have they established one since the child was born.

Peter Gunz Lies to Tara’s Face Again

Amina Buddafly called Peter Gunz a “typical man,” but I’m sorry honey, that’s not true. Peter Gunz is in a world all his own and proved just how conniving he is, last night. Gunz met up with Tara to make amends after he didn’t come home the other night. “Promise you will never leave me,” he begged. But Tara, who has dealt with his infidelities before, didn’t make a blind agreement and responded, “I lived through a mistake I wont live through another one.” Gunz pinky promised Tara that he would come home more and be a better man and father. She has no idea what’s about to come her way!

Joey & Tahiry

Tahiry and Joe Budden are again, trying to make their relationship work and we commend them for taking the appropriate avenues to do so, ie: couples counseling. Since Joey did most of the “withdrawing” from their previous relationship, he decided to “deposit” into this one and how so? Getting her custom-made jeans. Hey, different folks, different strokes! On another note, Tahiry was up for an audition that would require her to be away for 6-8 weeks which meant she would miss therapy. Since it was her idea to seek outside help, Joey wanted Tahiry to balance her time more efficiently. She felt he was being unfair and like she was being forced to work around his schedule.

Peter Gunz Stops Amina

Amina Buddafly still felt like she was being treated like the side chick. Blink Blink. When Peter found out that she and Tara would be at the same party, he dropped everything he was doing–having father and son time with Corey Gunz–and ran to intercept their meeting. He caught Amina as she walked up to the cub and begged her not to tell Tara before he had the chance to break her the news–because after all that’s the noble thing to do. Side eye.

Amina cried after she realized Peter only showed up to the soiree to stop her from confronting Tara, which would have been a indicator to anyone else that he is only playing games, but hey when your last name is Buddafly, we don’t expect much. Amina never made it inside the party, but Peter knew it was time to tell the truth once and for all, which all goes down next Monday!

Lawd, that was some good mess. What did you all think of last night’s drama? We can’t wait ’til next week…
