Pebbles Demands Retraction

After waiting nearly two weeks, following the premiere of VH1’s super successful TV film “CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story” to “gather her thoughts,” Pebbles is ready to talk. The former music exec released a statement demanding a retraction of scenes that negatively depict her (all of them), calling them defamatory.

Pebbles signed the members of TLC to a greedy contract, denying them access to it when they demanded. To add insult to injury, she allegedly paid the girls $25 a week for living expenses. T-Boz and Chilli have been very vocal about how they were treated while signed to Peebitone records. They contend that Pebbles was portrayed accurately.

First I want to thank all of you for the well wishes and prayers. I apologize for the delay in responding to the movie, but I wanted to gather my thoughts. I have always been a private person and this unprovoked attack has been extremely upsetting to me and my family. I have needed time to spend with my family and for personal reflection.

The movie contains many false and defamatory statements and scenes about me. Please know that I have never cheated or mislead anyone. I will defend my reputation, accomplishments, and character. My attorney is in the process of demanding a retraction of the false and defamatory statements and scenes about me from VH1.

My silence has empowered individuals looking for a payday at my expense. I have held my peace for 20 years and it’s time the truth comes out. I will be sharing my story in the appropriate venue at the appropriate time. With all my heart I thank you for your faithful support.

I am extremely proud of the success and massive accomplishments of TLC—the group I discovered, managed, and mentored. I helped push open doors for TLC and other women in this male dominated industry. My sacrifices ultimately opened the door for not only a new wave of female performers in this industry but also a new generation of female executives. That backdrop makes the movie extremely personally upsetting to me.

We were skeptical about Beyonce’s photobombing spectacle from the jump, not that it wasn’t super ah-mazing, but it was just so damn random and perfectly timed that we doubted it was as spontaneous as people were making it seem. Turns out, our inclination was right. The 15-year-old girl who got the selfie of her life at Bey’s concert, took to her FB to clarify:

“I have been the girl that got her selfie ‘photobombed’ by Beyonce [But], in fact, I asked her for the photo. She posed and smiled as the perfect person she is! Just thought I’d clean the air.”

Still great, nonetheless.

In other Beyonce news, she released a sneak peek of her new song “God Made You Beautiful,” in the commercial for her “Life is But a Dream” DVD.

Sounds a little like Gospel.

Ready to hear Joe Jackson‘s side of the “American Dream”? Well it’s coming to a screen near you! “Making Michael”– a documentary straight from the perspective of Joe Jackson–has found a distributor.

A former producer on the project said it was hard to find a movie house to support the film because,“It’s all told from Joe Jackson’s perspective, and no one was interested. The distributors despised him [when they saw the film].” According to Showbiz 411, “Making Michael” will be released next year.

I’m sure we’ll all head out in droves to see it. Side eye.

Peter Gunz has a perfectly good explanation for embarrassing himself and the entire male race last Monday night. If you didn’t catch the premiere of “Love & Hip Hop” NY, Gunz married his mistress while still living at home with his baby’s mother who he loves very much and calls his soul mate! Silly right? But as we know, people will do ANYTHING for money. During a visit to Sway’s music show, Gunz admitted:

“I’m fu**ed up out here[…]. Last time I went to the ATM, that sh*t told me to get the f**k outta here. I had one hit… when they called me about the show, I was 3 months behind the rent… I just gave yall what was really going on.” His story aligns with a report on MediaTakeOut that claims Gunz married his artist/mistress Amina Buddafly so she can stay in the country and obtain a visa so she can get paid doing shows! Makes sense. Gunz isn’t stupid though, he’s aware of the damage he is doing and says, “As an old black man, I should be setting better examples. But at the end of the day, it’s entertainment, it’s [really] out there… my sh*t is extreme.”

Is he remorseful? “Sh*t was gonna blow up anyway.” Gunz told Sway. “I was going to get busted. Why not get paid to get busted.” His baby’s mother Tara Williams called in and Gunz admitted that she deserves better.
