So, honorary Gladiators, what did you think about the latest episode of “Scandal?”

Things got quite intense when a lady by the name of Mary showed up at Pope & Associates in desperate need of Liv and her team’s help to receive justice for her son that was shot and killed by the FBI. Even though Liv agreed to take on Mary as a client, Mary decided to take the law into her own hands by strapping a bomb to her body and threatening to blow up a portion of the White House with a couple of congressmen and Olivia inside!

Meanwhile, Huck was on the hunt for Eli Pope, Olivia’s father, the same man he called “command” and was  responsible for torturing him and turning him into a stone cold killer.  And how could we forget that Jake, Olivia’s “other boo,” was STILL shacking up at her apartment! Where do we even begin!?

In case you weren’t taking notes or following our #ScandalParty on Twitter (@HelloBeautiful), here are a few things to remember for next week’s episode.

1. Eli Pope Still Has Major Mind Control Over Huck

Last week, Huck figured out who the man that was responsible for controlling his life, taking away his family  (“752!”) and turning him into a cold killer really was. He was shocked to find out that it was Olivia’s father, Eli Pope, and well, livid when he found out Olivia knew the whole time and kept it a secret. After choking Liv out last episode, this time, Huck decides to take matters into his own hands again to get justice. He was on a mission to KILL Olivia’s father!!

Huck spent most of the episode stalking Papa Pope until he finally came face to face with “Command,” the man he’s been terrified of for years. He pointed a gun straight at Papa Pope’s forehead and threatened to kill him. Oddly enough, Eli Pope didn’t even flinch at the sight of the gun! It was as if he already knew that Huck wasn’t capable of murdering him and that he was still in charge. Instead, Papa Pope told Huck he had a present wrapped up and waiting for him inside of a trailer and walked away gracefully. At that moment, it was like Huck was in a daze. He dropped the gun, went inside the trailer and found a man tied up. Huck knew exactly what his mission was: murder the man Eli Pope had left for him and make it look like a suicide! Surprisingly, Huck did just that! It was as if Eli still had mind control over Huck!

When Huck returned to Olivia, she found him sitting in the dark in a daze. Olivia was in tears asking Huck if he actually killed her father, but was relived to find out that he didn’t  go through with it. Huck broke down into tears telling Olivia that he’s dreamed of meeting “Command” for years and when he finally came face to face with the man responsible for ruining his life, he was still running his life! Would Huck ever get his “life” back?

2. Operation Remington

In the midst of Huck hunting and stalking Olivia’s father, Liv was in the middle of a bomb scare. Her newest client, Mary, had absolutely lost her mind. Mary was fed up with the U.S. government after they “accidentally” murdered her son and closed the case without giving her so much as an apology. She demanded justice so she took matters into her own hands, in a very “John Q” like way. She strapped a homemade bomb to her chest and walked right into the White House threatening to set it off if she didn’t get the case of her son’s death reopened. (How exactly she made it past security in the WHITE HOUSE with a bomb strapped to her chest is beyond me, but we’ll just let Shonda Rhimes slide with that one).

Of course, Olivia was in the mix to “fix” it and ended up being the negotiator that attempted to talk Mary out of her plan and free all the hostages, including herself. Live called on her Gladitor team to help break in the FBI’s files and retrieve Mary’s son’s file. Mary believed that her son was innocent and didn’t deserve to be murdered while the FBI claimed that he was a terrorist and a threat to the American people. Finally, after a full day of being held hostage, Fitz gave Olivia an interesting phone call. He admitted to Liv that Mary was right, her son wasn’t a terrorist but rather a member of the CIA who was pretending to be a terrorist in hopes of destroying an Al Qeada mission. He was murdered because he wasn’t fully trusted by the government but his murder had to remain a secret to protect the rest of the CIA members involved in the mission. Mary could never know the truth, and Liv honored Fitz’s wishes by never telling her. Mary unfortunately couldn’t handle the thought of her son truly being a terrorist and when she freed Liv and the other hostages, she set off the bomb, ruining a portion of the White House and killing herself!

3. Mellie Is Playing Fitz Like A Puppet

Mellie, Mellie, Mellie! She’s always ahead of the game! She knows that Fitz isn’t exactly too fond of her these days but she knew the exact way to control him: Olivia Pope. After the bomb scare was finished, Fitz found Mellie drinking alone in the dark.  He joined her for a shot or two and  then “drunk Mellie” came out in full effect! After asking him if he wanted to get it on and being declined…again (poor Mellie) the conversation turned to none other than Olivia.  Fitz asked his wife if she was sad that his mistress wasn’t killed in the explosion but Mellie assured him that Liv dying would be the worst thing that could ever happen to her. You see, if Fitz’s “whore” was killed (as Mellie loved to call her) then Fitz would build a shrine and worship “St. Olivia Pope” forever but as long as Liv was alive, she could use Liv to control the strings on her “puppet husband”. Touché Mellie, Touché!

4. Jake Has No Idea Why He’s Free, And Should Be Worried

In the midst of all this explosive drama, it was hard to forget that Jake was still shacking it up in Liv’s apartment. She finally returned home at the end of the episode to find Jake hiding out there, still bruised and beaten. Olivia immediately demanded answers. Why was Jake there? How was Jake there? Who let Jake out? No one ever made it out of the hole alive and Oliva didn’t understand why, though she wondered if Fitz had sent him to keep tabs on her.  When she asked Jake these questions, his guess was as good as hers. He also had no idea why he was free. Liv told Jake that he still wasn’t exactly “free.” As long as he was still alive, he was still useful to her father and he still was the man in control. Oddly, Liv told Jake that not only was he under her father’s mind control, but she was also! Eli Pope owned them all!

Perhaps we should be worried now.
