She definitely looked healthier and more coherent than her days being carried out of nightclubs and having public arguments with her then-girlfried Sam Ronson, but it’s obvious she still has a long way to go.

Check out 6 not-so shocking moments from Oprah’s grilling session with the troubled star below.

1. Lindsay says her first stint in jail was “terrifying,” but she “kind of wanted to go.”

“Part of my decision was, at that point I strangely, being in my addiction and everything and having all the chaos around me that I was so comfortable with, I somewhere inside knew and kind of wanted to go to jail … and I think that that was subconsciously being put out there by me just by my actions,” she said. “I think it was just to find some peace and just have no choice but to just sit and be.”

2. She “hates” being the poster child for Hollywood-kids-gone-wrong.

“I’ve lived so many lifetimes at this point and it’s not interesting to me anymore,” she said befreo adding that she plans to take herself out of the spotlight for a while. “It’s a process of growing up and recognizing and being just so tired and exhausted by the chaos…I have had no right in my past to complain about being followed by cameras and people making up stories, but there’s something to be said about me moving forward that if i’m going to put myself in a public situation—that’s open season for people to say what they’re gonna say. I can’t control that but I can control not putting myself there.”

3. She says her mistakes led to “lots of shame” and “tons of guilt” so she relied on her spirituality to help get by.

“I’m so in touch with, you know, whether it’s prayer or meditation, and, you know, there are so many powers greater than me in the world,” she said. “I’ve been blessed and lucky enough to have been given a gift to share with other people, and I think for so long I’ve kept that so locked down and chained down, just by creating this whirlwind of garbage around myself.”

“I think it was just to have some peace and just have no choice but to just sit and be,” Lohan told Winfrey. “I’ll never forget that moment (of being sentenced).”

4. She admits she is an addict.

When Oprah asked Lindsay if she was an addict, her simple response was “yeah.”

She went on to say alcohol was her drug of choice and it led her to try cocaine about 10 or 15 times. “(Cocaine) was like a party thing. People would have it and I would do it,” she said. “It went hand in hand with drinking.”

5. Lindsay says her problems started at home.

“A lot of stuff went on with my family when I was young and I grew up in a very chaotic home and then there were moments of everything being wonderful and perfect and then things being so uncontrollable and chaotic that—it’s something people go through and unfortunately i waited too long to face it.”

Nonetheless, the actress said the takes full responsibility for her actions. “I hate what a bad rap people give my parents,” she admitted. They were “just [being] parents … trying to stand up for their daughter and themselves.”

6. She’s found comfort in chaos but now she’s looking for peace.

“I think it was just to find some peace and just have no choice but to just sit and be,” she said. “As long as I stay honest with myself and just do the work that I am willing to do, and have been willing to do and am doing, there’s nothing that can stand in the way of that.”

She added, “I’m my own worst enemy and I know that.”
