Even with features in some of Hollywoods biggest films, Jordan has managed to stay low-key. And honestly, we can respect an actor who is more serious about his craft than hitting up every club and celebrity hangout.

The Los Angeles native has the lead role in the soon-to-be released Oscar Grant biopic, Fruitvale Station — which follows the last day of the 22-year-old Oakland native who was shot and killed by a police officer at a local metro station.

According to earlier reviews of the film, Jordan gives a powerful, breakthrough performance.

Fruitvale Station hits theaters on July 26, but until then check out five of our favorite Michael B. Jordan moments on film.

1. Red Tails as Maurice Wilson

2. Hard Ball as Jamal

3. “The Wire” as Wallance

4. “All My Children” as Reggie Porter Montgomery

5. “Friday Night Lights” as Vince Howard
